Simply Whats Up!

Hey all,

I have been camping in Colorado for a while now. It's been awesome! What a beautiful state. Rolling streams, tall fir trees, mosquitos, lakes, beautiful dispersed camping sites that are near towns. Towns with health food stores! and little stores or Merchantiles. Driving on 2 lane highways and roads with wildlife crossing the road or simply enjoying the muchies just off the roadside.

Ozzie, as I mentioned in a recent YouTube video, did have a mini stroke or seisure around the time of the Traveler's Camp Fest (TFC). The TFC organizer and fouinder had a few issues this year. Because of RV mechanical problems, he was late arriving, and because of the crazy amount of mosquitos at Clearwater Lake Resovour, many of us had moved to a remote location outside of Buena Vista. We all, the founder/organizer as well, enjoyed a nice small get together in spite of the changes. And, yes, Ozzie is doing fine. Occasionally his little tongue hangs out of his mouth but it doesn't always.

Ozzie and I are really enjoying ourselves this summer. It's incredible how much Ozzie remembers about traveling. He has improved in his basic interactions in a campsite and with other small dogs. He still has a very difficult time with larger dogs - so I do my best to keep a distance from larger dogs, except ones he's familiar with.

Currently, we have been camping in a location close to other travelers that we know. I'm begining to enjoy a Friday night (yup it's Sabbath) campfire dinner with our camping neighbors. Last week we had marinated steak with an organic green salad, tahini dressing and chicken salad brought by a neighbor (I didn't ask if I could use names in my blog). Many nights this week, we, as a neighborly camping group, shared meals prepared by different neighbors - it's been fun and different.

I am still VERY happy with the SUV camper - and with the recent addition of the Tail Veil Tent, we have had both privacy - during the TFC and protection from the afternoon rain as well as the morning and evening mosquitos here near Leadville, Colorado.

I have ordered the tent poles for a modification to the tent -- the TVT is actually made for MiniVans and minivan hatch doors are about a foot and a half longer that the door on an SUV or even shorter if someone was using a Teardrop trailer. TVT's are popular in the Teardrop trailer world. A modification needs to be made to support the roof fully, which will give us the full use of the 6' x 6' floor space. I also, hope to have enough funds this month to get a Home Depot fake green grass rug - they used to be $20 approximately for a large one that I can cut down to fit the floor inside the tent and have a little left over for an entry rug..

That's about all I have for news for the moment.
Keep it Simple! and Travel light and Often!

Lesa

  1. Just saw Bob interview you on his YouTube Channel. Hope to run into you some day. Chomping at the bit to get back on the road someday but for now am happy with my 10 acres and green house.
