Baja week 3 - Los Frailes Baja Sur

Image
Since the Good Vibe Tribe expedition group arrived in Los Frailes, I have been waking up around 5 am and walking on the beach. I think that this solo peaceful wake up routine is the best.  I feel the cool sand on my feet, the waves lap my legs, and my muscles get a work out as I move with the resistance of the sand and the water's edge.  I see this world as it begins to wake up!  The sun begins to peak around the horizon until it becomes a full ball of bright yellow life warming goodness. I stop and face the sun fully, soaking in the morning warmth. I allow my eyes a few moments of drinking in those early morning life giving rays. The fisherman in the near by village begin to stir, a fish jumps, and the birds slowly begin to arrive. . I feel like taking this morning slowly. I didn't feel well yesterday. I felt the chill of the afternoon sun retreating below the horizon and retreated myself inside my tiny Tracker home. I recognized some pain in my lower l

Baja week two!

It's been a busy, week and I thought I would have gotten around to writing about it so it could post on Wednesday. That didn't happen as I thought...and here we go 😅!  This past week has been filled with long hours of technical driving on mostly narrow mountain passes. It's been a great trip!  The Good Vibe Tribe, @j.m.k.adventures, @mamas.got.wheels, @wayoubox.com, @chicksdoit2, and @simplylesa.com, visited with @StringlessTheory at their glamping site. We also paid a minimal amount for camping in Guerrero Negro and La Paz. It was a welcome and needed change staying in the campsites. Hot showers, a restaurant meal, a little security and opportunity to walk around in a town helped bring us closer as a group as well as providing the needed break from long driving days.  We also visited some historic missions and of course walked through some local shops.  We enjoyed bonding and playing pool at the Mulege Brewery which was one free boondocking site we

I kept seeing explorers and Adventures on expeditions in Baja California Mexico and especially I remember watching the Baja 1000 races. I thought that was the coolest I wanted a Jeep I wanted to have that kind of adventure and I imagined driving on a sandy beach in Baja. Now I also was looking at a lot of surfing information in magazines and probably on TV. I don't know whether it was all escape fantasies because I was feeling rather an outsider and unwanted in my home life. And the small rural town where I was raised had limited opportunities. I also dreamed of living in New York City well the New York City Life has already happened for me I was able to cross that off my bucket list in the 90s and early 2000s. It's almost unbelievable and incredible when i get the opportunity to actually do one of these drempt about activities. Today for example -
