Keep it Simple - huh?
Good morning friends,
I'm so often talking about keeping it simple and every once in a while in my own life I realize that I've gotten beyond Simple and made things too complicated in everyday life.
Sometimes it looks like the way that I choose to make coffee one day or the items that I decide I want to bring into my life and then I have to reevaluate and maybe let some things go. Sometimes they simply just find myself a little settled a little bored almost and I hunt for ways to make everything better.
I find it amazing the few times in my life when I've realized I have everything I need I have enough I don't need a bigger income I don't need another kitchen item I don't need a new shirt I don't need a different new food in my diet. There's a satisfaction that comes with realizing that I have enough I am enough I have a stable life and stable friendships but even if some of them are silly ones I have a balance of helping others and self-care.
sure there are things to upgrade as something wears out I may choose to have a little more quality I've been able to translate that into my diet and switch from processed foods years ago over to whole foods and then with the property and the new greenhouse that I built I'm able to grow a lot of my own everyday foods and provide an even even better upgrade in that part of my diet. I find myself sometimes searching for another piece of equipment to make daily life a little easier or to add another project. It's not really necessary for me to do those things my life is full and satisfying when I keep it simple I think it's probably a human idea to keep searching for the better but sometimes the better is relaxing into the now of what works and the using what we already have the enjoying the current batch of friends rather than making new ones the enjoying the projects that are right in front of us just because we live whether it's dusting the car when I'm living in the car or or possibly processing my wood when I'm on the property there really is no need for more in that.
Keeping it simple is the statement that I heard probably in my childhood and at that time people would say keep it simple stupid I don't like the stupid word I don't like it being used with myself I don't like using it on myself I don't like using it with others so if my teenage years I decided to change it for me and I now say keep it simple silly! We might ask what is simple and honestly it's whatever works for you in my life for making my coffee I have days when I want to use one coffee maker or another I like coffee but I can make it complicated and then it's annoying and then I have lots of other simple ways to make coffee so if I want to change I just switched to another mode for a while. It's like choosing to switch your coffee cup or change your T-shirt color or something.
Whatever form I need to change today again I'm reminding myself to keep it simple silly! If my morning keep it simple thoughts are helpful to you I'd love to hear comments it's from you please feel free to add them below. as always keep it simple use what you already have travel lighting often and if you feel like it check out my YouTube channel which is Simply Lesa and consider subscribing over there as well as adding this blog into an email notification.

Darn I didn't intend for this to post without editing, as I used talk to text on my phone...I will edit asap using my tablet. I apologise in advance if it's annoying to any of you.
ReplyDeleteYou are not annoying to us. You come across very down to Earth and human. I love reading your chats. Keep them coming. Msaudry@yahoo.com
DeleteIt's not annoying. Everybody needs talk-to-text sometimes and, no matter what input method, everybody forgets sometimes to edit before hitting send!

DeleteHi Lesa, Saw your YouTube video on SUV RVing and loved it! Like the simplicity of your living arrangement and plan on doing this myself. Hope to travel to Florida in March and will try it in my SUV. Little concerned because I am overweight and have to deal with arthritis. Hoping this trip will help me move around more and give me an interest in life again. All I do is sit and watch YouTube videos on woman who travel around the country and daydream about doing it myself.

Good morning Lesa, I just discovered you by watching SUV RVing's "A Truly Minimalist No-Build Minivan Camper" video (a great video, inspiring, your sweet nature shine's through : ) I am happy to find you! I am in the dreaming and planning phase for converting a cargo trailer to a camper. My goal is to be doing the conversion this summer with the help of my son and to be on the road before the summer is over. I've been obsessed with watching all I can to get ideas and the title of the No-Build caught my eye. I keep imagining too much into my trailer. Then the other night, when I first talked to my son and asked if he would help me he said, "It's your first build, keep it simple mom!" Now I read your blog on keeping it "simple, silly" and I have ramped up in excitement with the reminder that the more I let things go, the lighter I feel and the more joyful I feel! Thank you so much for what you are doing and I look forward to exploring more of you blog and YouTube channel.....blessings of light and joy to you : )
ReplyDeleteHi Lesa!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved watching your video made in 2017 "How to Live on $250/mo....Pt.2" which is how I found your blog. I am hoping over the next 6 months or so to get my son and i on the road full time and I wanted to know how it looks out there with Covid i.e. masks, access to parking/parks, if things have been more difficult or easier with less people around etc. We've been inside of our sticks and bricks for the past year and are ready to get out and about again.
We used to live in an RV when he was really little and it was only for about 6 months so he doesn't remember it at all, but I do. I remember the freedom mostly and i want that for him.
Any tips or tricks you've learned over the last four years would be amazing. Thank you so much for your time and your insight. Stay safe out there! <3
Please email me i would like some advice. I have tickets to come to Arizona for weeks March 26 2021 but can't afford a hotel to check it out.
ReplyDeleteAn incredible story/journey Lesa - I found this blog from your YouTube videos and had to find out more about this lifestyle. Best wishes and lookin' forward to more content when you get a chance.

Good morning. I have just discovered your blog and videos. You are so inspiring. Getting great ideas for simplifying and hope to do the van thing in the future. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI would like to know more about your diet and the greenhouse. I like unprocessed, whole foods and am not a purist about it but it is a high interest area for me. Thank you
